Doug is a 29–year resident, and holds a MS in Engineering Management from Bridgeport University, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University.  He has been in medical device design and manufacturing for 33 years, and is named on 32 patents.  Current public service activities include sitting on the newly formed Bethel Fire Commission, being an Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 71 in Bethel, and being president of the Plumtrees School Association. Past activities include being a volunteer firefighter for 25 years, including 4 years as Chief of a 60–member department.  A member of St. Mary Church in Bethel, Doug and his wife, Cathy, of 29 years, have a high school age son.
